That’s Bor-shev-ski
I’m Laura Borichevsky
A few things about me: I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest, my pronouns are she/they, and I’m well-seasoned in the worlds of digital marketing and media, team leadership, and the outdoor industry.
Professionally, I’ve been known to wear a good number of hats and I like it that way. My origin story places me in leadership roles, such as the co-founder of Ravel Media where I helped to elevate underrepresented voices within the outdoor industry through social media and podcasts. For a time, I re-entered the non-profit sector (returning to my roots from my undergraduate degree), where I combined my experience in digital marketing with my desire to make the world a better place— especially where people and environment intersect. Currently, you’ll find me in the ski industry where I’ve been utilizing my leadership role in social media to expand the idea of who is skiing and riding out on the mountain.
Outside of the 9-5 realm, I’m a Certified Holistic Sex Educator and, as a passion project, I develop digital sex education and podcast content for outdoorsy adults and rural communities through a platform called Sex Outside.
Besides working in my home base of Winter Park, Colorado (Indigenous Arapahoe, Cheyenne, and Ute land), I’m likely spending time sipping on decaf and keeping up with my tiny herd of fur babies, or adventuring with my partner on the road, trail, or river— usually with an instant film camera in hand.

This 29-Year-Old Podcast Host Left a Comfortable Career Behind to Live on the Road
Laura Hughes is ready for round two. After six years together, Laura and [her ex] separated in the summer of 2018. He took the van. That’s where we find Laura for this interview: camped out in her parents’ backyard in Whidbey Island, Washington, on the cusp of her new vanlife project.
